• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Sobering viewing. Heartbreaking to see the families he spoke to who had lost an addict through suicide.
I think most in football have always known he was talented but a bit "twp"
Incredible to hear Merson and the likes of Keith Gillespie lost millions!!!!!

I think it's an absolute disgrace that football (sport in general) is so in bed with the gambling industry.

Agree 100% and I find it disgusting how the ex pros like Jenas & Crouch amongst others earn good money doing their media work but also have to take on betting site promotion work as well greedy sods 😡😡🤮🤮

Around 15+ years ago, I worked in a bank call centre, dealing with the premier accounts. Quite a few footballers would call and it was always to make a transfer to another player's account, with the transfer given the description of 'gambling' or 'cards'.

It would always be a tidy sum, often in the thousands. These were usually League 1 and 2 players, not the big boys. Was eye-opening how much money they were spending on gambling and this was just with amongst the players, not the bookies.
