Rachel Reeves

It's all over BBC, would you class them as Right Wing Media?
Well, given their political lead Chris Mason hangs on every word that comes from Farage and the circa 150+ Tory appointments in 14 years, they certainly don't follow the charter. Lisa Nandy needs to get the metaphorical boot on their throat. For goodness sake, when are they going to realise it's no longer 1997

They are all coming out of the same cesspit, not a decent politician among this new lot, they're all career politicians in it for themselves, they're all built to perform under the self interest policy
Vaughan Gething is a perfect example of that.

Just my opinion of course, but I wouldn't class the BBC as right wing media. Could you suggest any left leaning news outlets as I do like to get a balanced view on news stories that are released? I currently only watch/read BBC and read Daily Mail online (I don't click on the pay wall articles). Nor do I follow any social media stuff.

So when would it be OK for her to resign then? as she HAS broken the law?
Do you feel that’s the criteria then? Break the law and must resign? Regardless of scale, intent etc? Genuine question because if that’s the criteria we’d probably have MPs resigning a lot more regularly.

Bring serious I wish they’d stop using the words like ‘resign’ and ‘sacked’ because it’s not as if she wouldn’t have a job tomorrow she’d still be on £100k a year.

There would be very few people left if every politician that broke the law had to resign, and that’s from both Labour and Conservative parties.
Covid would have been carnage for the then government with Johnson and Sunak resigning among plenty of others.

Rachel seems a little forgetful to me. Genuine question, would you employ/fire someone who has lied on their CV. She, her hubby and the estate agent of all broken the law. People have been fined for the same offence and someone should be prosecuted. If Rachel believes that she done no wrong (again) then fair enough.

I agree, but would you expect to get away with breaking the law (like politicians do on all sides)? We all make mistakes and have to deal with the consequences. Rachel has unfortunately made a number of them, with NO consequence. The voting public will not forget this and how it's all been handled.

That Whataboutery on this thread from the usual suspects isn't a surprise.

What is a surprise is the lack of same moral outrage from the same group when Sarah Pochin made her abhorrent comments.

Your last sentence is the most worrying part of this. Forget about the misdemeanour and the estate agents holding up their hands, this won’t matter a jot to most of the folk who are anti current establishment. It simply drives more towards Reform. Another PR black eye for Labour and another step closer to a disaster for the UK as a whole.

You didn’t answer my question. Never mind.

Surely if someone/anyone states a FACT about a certain topic then that is what it is A FACT? Or are we not allowed to state facts anymore?

Sorry Exil, I would have thought that the above would have made my position quite clear. Yes I do think that ANY politician should resign/lose their job if they have "mistakenly" broken the law. These are people who we have voted for and put our faith in, to run our country. They should be accountable (other opinions are out there).

She's better off resigning now ahead of the next Autumn Budget which will be a disaster and Starmer will then blame and drop her (tax rises are never good for the economy especially when working Britons pay more tax than most other countries and our public services are broken beyond repair).

She's between a rock and a hard place - she should go back to being an economist (according to her CV) and make a pile.

Fair enough. I don’t agree. It would seem madness to me to expect politicians to resign for speeding, littering or other minor administrative offences like the one Reeves seems guilty of. But as you said, all about opinions etc.
