Now then I’m sure I’ve told you all this before but I used to love banana sandwiches as a child.

Off school one day with the dreaded lurgh, I felt at death’s door. Heartened, I was by the cry from the kitchen, that a banana was on the way.

Crestfallen to hear no bananas were available for my luncheon, I was assured something just as good was being prepared.

No s**t, I was presented with an orange sandwich. I mean, even the peel was still on. No effort made to remove it, just a sliced orange.

“Well, it’s just the bloody same isn’t it” was the justification I heard from the kitchen.

Hmmm

When I was an apprentice about 50yrs ago there was a Labourer on the site I was working on, who used to have an Orange Sandwich every day

Can you still get tinned Ye Old Oak Ham? That was the Rolls Royce of sandwich fillings when I was a kid. Only on special occasions as a change from Spam, corned beef or crab paste.

Things have changed a bit and thank god they have.

Don't mind Corn beef sarnies myself, needs Hp sauce added though.

I try to keep away from Barry when at all possible, although I've not got a choice when work sends me to jobs there.

Pugh's Garden Centre up at Venvoe is worth a visit got some quirky meal selections in their restaurant mostly Korean type food, also there's a Maidenhead Aquatic's outlet there and they have some stunning Japanese Koi as well, that place is close to Barry, some say to close

Korean BBQ and kimchi is to die for, literally

You lot down the Sandfields were a strange lot, now go and have a Cheese, Ham and Banana Sarnie, you probably have that with a double expresso and a Fag

Warwick is looking on at the use of "expresso"

Ye old oak ham, now were cooking on gas, loved that stuff. No ketchup required with that bad boy.😋👍
