Indeed, the particular brand I used to smoke is now £19.40😲👍
Not that it makes a difference, but obviously what you stated earlier about that’s 19 quid for a pack of fags when you give up 2.5 years ago, and now it’s an extra 40p 🤣

Not knocking, but I would estimate 2.5 years ago, the price on your brand of cigarettes, would have been around 13-14 quid. 👍

Last year I had to get a passport renewed in a hurry so paid for the appointment service, also went for the bigger version at same time, and that came to a grand total of £219.50. The £9.35 I saved on postage was spent on fuel getting to Newport.
Took a lady up in a taxi to renew her passport, when we got there she told me to hang on 5 minutes and she would find out how long it would take to process the renewal. If it was only going to take an hour i would wait for her and take her back home. She returned and told me it was going to take about 5 hours to be processed. She then informed me that she would keep the hire of the taxi going , and that while we were waiting i was now to take her shopping. For the next 5 hours i was taking her to different shops in Newport and Cwmbran before finally picking up her passport and bringing her back to Swansea. Total cost of the fare was £326.

It was 2 years ago to be exact, and as I recall it was heading towards £19 quid.
Anyhoo, I'm glad I've kicked the habit.🙂👍

I’m glad you kicked the habit, I’m just pointing out that it’s an impossibility that the brand was near on 19 quid 2.5 years ago, and now it’s 19.40. Just to point out, if your brand was 15 quid 2.5 year ago, with the tobacco tax rises over the last years, it would make some kind of sense, but no way your brand has increased by less than 4 or 5 quid.

I was in a petrol garage the other day minding my own business waiting for the woman in front of me to pay for her fuel. Cashier asks which vehicle are you paying for to which the woman replies the transit van. Cashier replies that’ll be £128. I was shocked.
Said woman opens her purse, counts the cash and pays up. She then asks for 10 packets of cigarettes, I’m a non smoker I had no idea how much a pack of fags cost. When the cashier said that’ll be £145 I nearly collapsed. Woman counts the money, pays up on offski.

Imagine shelling up £238 quid on fuel and fags - ……. mental !

My father in law smokes 20 a day, based on £14.50 a pack thats over £5k per year. Thats staggering.

I think it was a four hour collection time for me, and they were very clear with the instruction to not come back early. Killing four hours in Newport is easier said than done.

I believe the last packet I bought was around 18.60 cant remember exactly, near enough 19 quid, as near as makes no difference, today they are 19.40. Hope that helps.🙂👍

Ok. Believe me, your brand would not have increased 80p in 2 years with the budget. 👍

I’ve never smoked, both my parents were heavy smokers but I hated the smell. When I got married and moved out I couldn’t believe the smokey smell in my parents’ house after I’d been away for a few weeks. Id been living there for 24 years breathing it all in.

Expensive way to die early.
My nan is 86, she's ate full fat content and smoked for 71 years.. my grandfather and other nan both died from cancer, they didn't smoke and my nan was teetotal and health conscious.. guess which one is still alive
