• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

RIP to a sporting great, and also a man who made mistakes but was on the side of the good guys.

If you haven't made a Will, either do it soon, or at least write a letter to your family telling them your bank accounts, pension details. Will only take 5 minutes for you.

I’m still coming to terms with it. I’m a cricket nut and this genuinely affected me when I heard the news. But that’s the thing about cricket, the fiercest rivalry in the game is the ashes, and whilst we hurl abuse at each other during a series it’s always with a sense of fun and banter. At the oval last summer I bellowed ‘Shane, even though you’re an Aussie I still love you’ across the boundary rope after a long day just past the outfield drinking. He was gracious enough to pop over and shake my hand as he wished us a good evening. Furthermore it didn’t seem to phase him that I was dressed as Wonder Woman. Top lad, gutted!

Barney Ronay is a brilliant writer.

I have to say this has hit me far more than it should have for a bloke I never met and who never played for any team I wanted to win. It’s been on my mind a lot. It’s weird

Looking towards the cricket season on Sky....they've got a lot of recruiting to do!
Bumble gone, now Warne. Gower and Botham haven't really been replaced.

David Gower has been commenting on Sky recently doing the Pakistan Premier League as it happens, Warnie will probably be replaced by a woman anyway I suppose...

When I read Bumble gone, I thought I haven't seen that anywhere, so just checked, it then twigged that you meant gone off our screens.

They'll miss Bumble.
