• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

How can Smith stay in the team week after week with such negative performances? Has he got something over Martin?

He should be a back up defensive midfielder. He's got absolutely no business being some sort of quasi attacking midfielder for us. Why Martin (and for that matter Cooper occasionally) can't see this is crazy.

He's a good DM. He's not an AM.

Not his fault he keeps being picked in a position that doesn't suit him.

I concur and would like to add that I suffered from the same treatment during my career at Murton Rovers. I was a striker in the mould of Gary Lineker and incredibly humble with it. I hung around the penalty area like a guff in a lift. Anyway I was always played at left back, an utter waste of my talents, indeed my record playing as a forward in my first season, 3 goals in 44 games speaks for itself!

Another Martin balls up, and everyone knows it bar him. Shocking selection, again and again.

I played down Murton for Plough Rangers many moons ago, the game was abandoned after 15 minutes because the local residents complained about the noise of the referee's whistle.
At least a dozen angry householders (mostly women) stormed over with rolled up copies of the Sunday Times supplement and started wading in willy nilly ...

I also captained Murton 2nds in cricket for a few years. I recall one occasion when the opposing captain went down like Jordan’s nik naks mid over. Screaming in agony he was so I sent one of our lads down to the pub/club house to get ice to aid the poor chap. My pal came back declaring that the steward had told him to “f**k off. Couldn’t give a sh**e”. He was a miserable b*****d that steward. We called him Adolf!

Regardless of all that I don't think there is anyone out there who thinks he even has the capability of being an attacking midfielder!
