• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Glam fvcked up early doors, when they were very late in paying their staging fee for hosting a Sri Lanka Test match - which resulted having a West Indies Test match taken off them.

They then sold their right to host further Test matches for £2.5m, which I think ended last year - but if they now apply for any future Test matches, they have to repay that money.

Yes, I remember that taking the final Australian wicket seemed to take ages. Also Majid's quickfire (by 1968 standards) 50 in the first Glamorgan innings.
My brother had a bat signed by Majid Khan

Shame. Grew up just up the hill from there. Used to come down after school when there was county cricket there to sneak in and watch games. Lots of memories, but watching Viv Richards play there is probably my favorite - what a legand. I was as in awe of his general demeanor as I was of his talent. The coolest man on the planet.

I was part of Swansea Cricket club age groups (can’t remember which ones..) and walking down there to train every weekend was so cool.

Rodney Ontong. What a name. What a bowler.
Edit. I wish I hadnt read his wiki afterwards. Hero to zero. It does say alleged

Glamorgan sat back and did nothing while St Helens went to rot, spent millions of pounds that they didn't have on a white elephant for the odd scrap thrown thier way from the ECB. If the Welsh Assembly hadn't bailed them out they would be playing the likes of Devon and Northumberland now. Thanks Hugh for your "legacy"...

And they’ve had the gall to tweet today lamenting the loss of cricket at St Helen’s.
