Some great memories here, whether remembered or reminded, if you’re a sports fan of a certain age. Superb stuff. Enjoy.

Wow! Where did you find this?

I have bookmarked some classics from the days when the TV only had three or four channels.

I stumbled across it on the Guardian’s website the other day, they used to publish some of the blogs as a series. And that led me to the guy’s original blog. It’s an absolute treasure trove of sporting memories from my formative years. And also many new ones. I vividly remember Wales’s ill fated qualification campaigns for Spain ‘82 amd Mexico ‘86 but had no memory at all of an equally dramatic and so near yet so far away campaign which almost saw us qualify for Euro ‘84.

Brilliant memories.
Watching the YouTube clip takes me back want must be 42 or 43 years, I’m guessing it was our first season back in Division 2. The sound of the Vidiprinter stirs up so many memories.
