We also had a few big earners still on the wage bill that we couldn't shift (Ayew being chief among those)

I'm not sure our current wage bill is all that much cheaper overall. Ayew aside it's largely like for like.

Only one of those things is relevant to that question. That money covers the losses and running costs.

Been a bit depressing reading the social media reactions thinking this is OK, and this year's will be much better. Way off piste I fear.

LFC fans hate FSG (the owners). They actually hold them back. Liverpool are good these days because of the genius of Klopp, not the owners.

Please feel free to supply evidence that Liverpool fans hate the owners also. I think you're mixing them up with the previous owners, Hicks and Gillet.
