It’s terrible, what he and his family have gone through is shocking.
Grayling introduced the £37,500 threshold back in around 2013 and it’s not gone up in ten years. I think the Conservative MP Nigel Evans had a £130k legal bill after being acquitted in Court. I’m far from his biggest fan, but it does seem unfair when people are prosecuted and end up with huge legal bills when they’ve been found not guilty.

There are people out there who are habitual offenders/serious criminals, they make sure they’ve got no provable resources and limited income so get everything priced when they’re in Court and then there’s cases like this. There’s got to be a better, fairer way.
