It all depends what the owners see our aims for the rest of the season.
As it stands we are in touching distance of a play off place.
We are far enough away not to look over our shoulders at a relegation place.
That's all about current position.
Do the owners think we have a realistic chance of a play off place, and if so go for it?
My thoughts are
No real chance of a play off place without experienced signings. Enough in the squad to not get relegated.
That leaves me with the only option for the season. I want to have more enjoyment from watching games.
Will a couple of loan players from the Prem give us that? I doubt it, but live in hope.
So that brings it down to, do we use money now that could be used in the summer, to basically stay in roughly the same position in the league?
24 Hours later.
Everything on it's own can and most likely be given a P.R. swing to them.
BUT
When you put the whole jigsaw together you can only come up with one picture.
We've known from day 1 that the owners were going to run the club as a business, which on it's own is not a bad thing. The one problem is that not all business awareness can be transferred (sorry to use that word) to the football world.
This only confirms my thought (and I'm sure I'm not alone) the relegation from the Premier, where the only chance of getting some return for their money, was the turning point, to limit losses as a business only.
This of course has been to the detriment of the football side.
It's now spend as little as possible, pray to get some player sales, and look for some investors.
That itself is unanswered as new share issue, or part sale of their shares?
Whichever way it's looked at, the future is unclear, but more negative than positive.
