• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

There are some very angry folk about.

..and some very touchy forlock tuggers
If you are referring to me, I couldn't give a flying f***, if there is a Monarchy or not, if there is there is and Visa versa, just get on with my own business. I've been in work all day, earning a crust for me and mine.👍

It’s not surprising. The independence movement in Wales is probably stronger than its ever been despite the increasingly implausible denials of Brit nats everywhere. At the moment it’s a very noisy minority but it’ll grow as the older generation, which has more traditional ties to “Britishness”, disappears and the more radical youngsters became engaged and get the vote. They are the future. Scotland will go first, probably within the next decade or so. Wales and Northern Ireland will follow. The last two won’t happen in my lifetime but it will happen. The U.K. in its current form is doomed and has been for decades. It’s only a matter of time.

Careful, you'll have lots of replies from posters that don't care

I read someone elsewhere objecting to the King speaking speak Welsh while he was in Wales today. That’s the attitude I don’t understand and it’s that generation (the same generation as me I’d imagine) when it disappears that will lead to the inevitable break up. Imagine someone making the effort to speak the language of a country while in that country. Outrageous.

Of course they do, she was Queen for 70 years and massively loved and respected. Quite right too. But it’s transient. No one who didn’t know her personally will still be grieving or missing the Queen in a few weeks. They’ll be too busy worrying about whether to put the heating on or buy food.

Fair point.

There are a lot of people about these that have painted themselves so tightly into corners, that they try waaaaay too hard. As you've said elsewhere, the break up of the union will come, it's already cracked beyond repair.
