I’ve seen he’s back from injury and playing for U21’s… from what I’ve seen of him during senior games and U23’s he’d certainly be a step up from anyone else we have at right back.

The lad deserves a chance and no point having development players if they aren’t given the opportunity. To be frank he can’t do any worse than the first choice dross.

But can he pass backwards and can he slow up/stifle a swans attacking move?! :ugeek:

When he was in the u18s he tended to play as the water-carrying steady eddie midfielder, and last season he played the Naughton middle central defender role rather than wingback. So yeah he can do that.

Would be good to see him get some senior involvement before the end of the season. Was developing ahead of schedule for quite a while, made probably the most seamless step up to u23s I've seen in our academy when he was still 17, but these two ACL injuries have slammed the breaks on. Turns 21 in the summer and will be an overaged player next season if he doesn't find a loan.

Cheers jasper, you made me smile with your response and I am also grateful for your knowledge.

Obviously unfair to judge him on one game, especially when that game is against premier league opposition, but he got a complete hammering down the flanks against Southampton in that pre season friendly. Doesn’t look to have the pace to play wing back but you’ve seen him a lot more than me, you’d say long term position would be middle of a three?

He's only 5'8, I don't think many managers will be looking to play him as a centre half let alone in the middle. The Naughton sweeping role suited him but even we don't use that much any more. It's a tricky one. He's a good defender but after two ACLs that athleticism will be an important question for Championship football.

Not like Latibeaudiere doesn't constantly get exposed for lack of mobility in wide areas.
