• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Paul Rodgers of Free and Bad Company was born.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqdCZ0yHNa4

Paul Kossoff guitar , Andy Fraser bass , Simon Kirke drums and Paul Rodgers the rasping lead singer .

About that time late 60s my mate was into Wishbone Ash , arguements followed who the best 33 rpm vinyl of them Bands .
Good and happy times .

Seen another version of Wishbone Ash , albiet with some original members , Turner brothers went their seperate ways I believe .
They performed as that new outfit in Pontardawe Arts Centre few years ago , nostalgica to attend the show was appealing .

No idea some of the music they played onstage , new album coming soon etc , but sounded so good , a class act that night .
Ticket price was about £25 , for the Oaps amongst us ,The Zombies with Colin Blunstone on vocals played the venue recently. Another lot of great musicians entertaing an audience who took time to promoted our local Theatre .

Just to chuck in the curve ball , was planning and wanted to see Billy Joel in Cardiff next year , awful prices for this event .

Wow, just done a google after you saying that, is that correct, around £130 quid a ticket?

Edit: On the ticketmaster site now, 2 seats with restricted viewing £255.50, and actually standing near the stage £469.30. Bloody hell, that extortionate.

Owner of a great voice which fitted Free like a hand in a glove. They were a great band whose output sadly was all too brief.

Watching a programme some time ago about how Paul Rodgers did a stint as Queens Vocalist before Adam Lambert .

Roger Taylor was honest enough to say Rodgers was a great blues singer but would never carry the Queen brand onstage .

Think he done one tour with them before going their seperate ways .

Can't argue with that. Listen to Rogers singing "Oh I Wept", a great blues voice giving a perfect performance. Then try to imagine Freddy Mercury singing it.
