• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Used to live the Kingsway the day before NYE in that era.
Quid Inn was rocking , everyone enjoying. Kebabs and coleslaw on every pavement

Back in 2005 I was having horrific nightmares so the GP sent me to see a psychologist.
She was harping on about mindfulness and reckoned nobody should ever get angry and lose their temper for any reason whatsoever.
She said she was in The Gambia on holidays a couple of months earlier and had only been there a couple of days when she got robbed of everything, her clothes, her money, her passport the lot.
She didn’t feel angry at the time though because of mindfulness.
I wasn’t having that shit and we had a bit of a heated debate and I ended up giving her the example of George Harrison an extremely placid and peaceful man being prepared to get angry, lose his temper and kill someone to protect his and his family’s lives.

She replied “who?” “who is he?” “I’ve never of him!”

I’ll never forget that I was completely dumbstruck and didn’t know what to say next, completely blew my head apart.
