Tory Scum

If Andrew RT Davies is the voice of reason I’ve no idea what reason is anymore.

The 20 mph deserves a thread entirely on its own. Even speed awareness chiefs are shrugging their shoulders.
Saying you would rather the scum bag tories to woke "people who are alert to racial prejudice and discrimination" is just barking in my opinion. It's quite clear the tory scumbags are in it for the money and while some of the other party politicians are, they will have had better intentions.

What speed awareness chiefs? Have you got a link to the report or whatever it is you saw please.

Thing is, I would rather the tory scum, than the WOKE labour misfits all day long.

I would rather have none of them, but..

What do you mean by "WOKE"?

I think the word WOKE means different things for different people?

But what I feel, is people is they are jumping on the bandwagon of what may considered right, but not necessary NOT.

So would it be fair to say you are using it in the way of your final sentence above?

I don't think the word WOKE can mean different things to different people because the word doesn't have different meanings, it's more a case of different people incorrectly thinking they know what it means and thinking they're clever using it but they use it in inappropriate contexts so clearly they're not very clever.

FYI : Woke (/ˈwoʊk/ WOHK) is an adjective derived from African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) meaning "alert to racial prejudice and discrimination".

Yes, I have googled the word, but I would say it's definitely not used in that way very often,

More often this way: The UN's 'woke' climate change propaganda is an insult to science
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/12/03/uns-woke-climate-change-propaganda-insult-science/

My own personal view of what 'WOKE' means in most context, is that somebody thinking what they are doing is right, and ignoring plain common sense.

Which is why I said what I did, just about to be hit with 20mph in Wales in September, and what I call the 'woke' Swansea labour are not opposing this at all. I read some of the report from the meeting, they were like this is going to be great, less pollution from tyres and brakes.

Basically I suppose a woke idea of getting rid of cars, and less pollution, would not be too bad, as long as they have the transport infrastructure in place, unfortunately they haven't and my estimations are a long, long way off achieving that.

But that's not woke it's just being ideological. You're absolutely correct that it is pie in the sky; we need to act on climate change but it requires a globalised effort

Jack123 showing us that most people who throw 'woke' around as some kind of insult have no idea what it means, other than the person they're calling woke said something they disagree with.

What a bunch of gammons...

Spot on JS, exactly the point I was making in my reply to his first post. Using a word in its incorrect context is not clever and says far more about the user than whatever point he/she is trying to make.

Absolutely, one of the most over used, pointless, words ever to appear in the dictionary. Much better to use a proper sentance to articulate, than use nonsense like this. Its beginning to p!$$ me off.👍
