Was Carroll offside?

My seat is in line with the 18 yard line at that end and my initial reaction was that he was just offside but I will wait until I see a replay from a similar angle. What I want to know is, was Piroe offside, as that was at the other end from where I sit?

I would have said he was from where I was sat but watching that Williams does look very static so its feasible that Carroll's electric pace kept him onside...

The criminal thing is that two got back to stop him and still managed to make a horses arse of it. Letting a late career, end of the line, Andy Carroll outrun you and then make a mug of you with the ball. Not great.

He ran 40 yards quicker than Williams FFS and it was so obvious he was going to cut in, exactly like the first goal

Doesn't matter a jot though does it? Goal was given so we suck it up and move on. Carroll scoring then was not the only reason we lost yesterday.

Personally I think Hamer should have done better, although Carroll shouldn't have got anywhere near the box
