That Laudrup and Bobbly came so close in timing is one of life's great mysteries to me. Can't shake that image of Bobbly showing Wayne how to pass with the instep in training.

I've met Laudrup and his son many times on a padel court recently and they're pretty decent people, especially Mads.

I still can't seem to get ML's exit out of my mind, unfortunately, and the fact that he stole so much from the club before downing tools.....

Sorry, I thought his illegal transfer dealings, via his pathetic Turkish agent, was common knowledge as it was all over the internet at the time.

I think it was the Swiss Report, Swiss Ramble or someone like that who initially exposed him. They do the forensic checks into finance within football clubs and they came out with a huge amount of evidence about the money that Laudrup & Co nicked.

Two things come to mind here.

#1. We have only the clubs word that they didn't know what was going on, and as the Supporters Trust found out to their cost, honesty was at a premium amongst the owners at the time.

#2. Even if Tutumlu was making a few bob on the side, we were getting some bloody good players in return. Far better value than when Huwbert decided to take the job on.
