Not what do you think it should be, but what do you think the government will decide?

A tight lockdown as we have now? Very limited household mixing? Free for all? There will be a hell of a lot of unrest if there are stringent limits in place. Will people actually obey?

All depends on case numbers and deaths of course, but I can’t see it changing too drastically before the start of December...

Gonna take some policing to stop families visiting xmas day. Am guessing to ( in their eyes) help the hospitality trade, they'll be aloud to fully open a week before xmas, followed by the inevitable lockdown in January.

I think they’ll ignore the science for political (and fear of social unrest) reasons over Christmas and allow families to mix and stay together. Then we’ll have much more severe restrictions straight away to try to keep a lid on the spike that Christmas has caused. They’ll be wary of couching it in religious terms to try not to be seen to set a precedent for religious festivals.

People are fatigued now, at the point of Christmas, they'll be willing to take the risk, of having a 7th family member over.

I can say for certain, if I was a student and told to isolate in my digs over the xmas period, I would have told them where to stick that idea.

Lee Waters is already talking about a New Year firebreak so is the WAG assumption that social distancing will break down over the Christmas period?

They announced lockdown on the eve of eid, which disrupted the plans million of Muslims had made. If the numbers are up just before Christmas and they say oh forget it enjoy yourselves, they're going to be in a lot of trouble

Christmas "rules" will be nothing like most of us have experienced before but many(most?) people will ignore them and stay with their family hence the lockdown that we will experience without a shadow of a doubt in January

I'm sure someone will cash in and come up with a mask that is also a long white beard! 👍
