I would think if people have anything to reveal that may affect the relationship they should reveal it fairly early on before things get too serious.
It may be hard for. their new partner to take, but the longer it goes before discussing it, the greater danger there is of the other partner feeling resentful, hurt and angry.
Tough one for anyone involved in this scenario though
