• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Last weeks transfer links between Swansea City and Sunderland leading scorer Ross Stewart delivered much fan comment as a result with fans from both sides not really believing this was a deal that had any mileage in it at all. It felt like a lazy transfer link given the efforts of Russell Martin twice...

Because he’d be guaranteed a pay rise on top of guaranteed championship football something Sunderland can’t offer Mr Phillips.

I'm with you on the second part but it wouldnt surprise me on the first part if Sunderland pay higher wages than us

Not with our wage structure surely Phil! Bennett on over £20k per week according to some, nearly fell off my chair.

That's been banded about from that salary site I think - I'd be surprised (or maybe not) if he was on that much - its like 1k for every yard he covers in a game

Aiden McGeady is supposedly the Black Cat’s highest earner on £12,000 per week, which is £8,000 a week less than Bennett who is our highest earner. Not sure how much Ross Stewart would get if he moved here and how it would be proportionate to Piroe who would rightly be top dog.

Sunderland is a massive club with average home attendances in League One of 30,000 per match, so I can see why the question about motivation to leave has been asked.
