Windies cricket goes from bad to worse

I remember when these guys were untouchable, with a seeming never ending production line. They are cricket’s Welsh rugby
I remember Wes Hall and Charlie Griffith at St Helens, then a succession of superb bowlers and they were unplayable for years. Sad state now. As you say just like Welsh rugby.
 
Seemed like every county had a West Indian overseas player back in the 80s/90s.

Really sad decline in the 21st century, which apart from a couple of T20 World Cup wins in the 2010s shows no sign of improving.

I was in the Caribbean last year and took every opportunity to try and engage with the hotel bar staff about cricket, but it quickly became obvious that most of them had zero interest and hardly any knowledge of the culture that existed in the 80’s.
 
A real shame, I think the Caribbean islands are far more interested in American sport these days.
I always enjoyed watching the Windies in the 70's and 80's & seeing the likes of Clive Lloyd, Andy Roberts, Gordon Greenidge & Viv at St Helens.
