Today is World Arthritis Day, how many here suffer from this horrible disease?
Luckily(?), I’ve been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis early on and I’m taking medication to try to keep it in check. Over the years I’ve suffered from it, I’ve only had one really bad episode, which was not pleasant to say the least. Unfortunately, the medication is immuno-suppressive and means that I’ve been shielding through this pandemic, but without the meds I dread to think how I would be now.
In the UK, over 10 million people have some form of arthritis, and it’s not just older people, kids can be affected too.
If you’ve ever had, or spoken to someone who has had, gout (a form of arthritis) then you probably know how painful it is.
Take some time to read up on arthritis and maybe you could pick up on symptoms early, which would give you an opportunity to speak to your doctor and catch it before it can do too much damage
