Roger Slams Petty

Good to see when a player is clearly Swansea City through and through and Roger gave us more reason to see that today with a two page spread in the Welsh Mirror and I think it is fair to say that Tony Petty is not his favourite person.

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Roger says “Of course we’re all worried but we are going to fight this all the way. It came as a total shock. We were all called into a 10 o’clock meeting with the chairman and expected him to outline his plans to move the club forward. It started well enough. He told us to ignore press reports where he was quoted as saying we were paid like Hollywood superstars and then he called 15 of us in to drop the bombshell”

Roger goes on to explain that Petty wanted to cut his wages by 60 per cent and says “I was only with him for a few minutes and now he’s gone back to Australia which is brave of him. Mr Petty has made a grave error and will have to come to his senses”

Roger also admits that his wife Sue is worried and despite trying to keep a brave face his eldest, Daniel knows a bit about what is going on. Clearly, hopes of the players rest with the PFA at the moment and he admits that “Nick (Cusack) has spoken more to the PFA than his own wife in the last few days”

He also speaks highly of the actions of the fans “We will have a huge following. We need them to get behind us at the moment. My big concern is that Swansea City survive. But it will be because the people of Swansea won’t let it die. Mr Petty will not get away with this.”

We at jackarmy.net can only echo those sentiments
