No Pay At Christmas

This one defies belief. It is Christmas Eve and we are talking about people with families to support. Having just spent the usual amount on Christmas presents. And then the bombshell arrives. Naturally, at a time when as few people as possible are around to hear the news.

Words just cannot describe Tony Petty at the moment. Have you noticed that ever since Don Goss was appointed to the board then Petty and Shuttleworth have been noticeable by their absence? The found the scapegoat to deliver the glad tidings and left him to it. Don, you’ve been a fool and you fell right into the cockney trap.

This morning Mr Goss called in Peter Owen, Jackie Rockey, Colin Addison, Peter Nicholas and Nick Cusack to deliver the news that there is no money there for the wages. They were informed that the PFA have been asked for a loan to pay the players but this won’t be available until the second week of January by all accounts. Also he has asked for ร‚ยฃ225,000 to cover the wages – three months worth. Surely the PFA will only pay one month at a time – what does he need three months up front for? Silly question? As for the rest of the staff, there is nothing there at all. Goss is hopeful that they could be paid by cheque – I will at this point advise Petty that it is illegal to write cheques on a bank account unless there is funding there to pay it so no post dating please Mr Petty.

This man is scum. There is no other word to describe him. What happened to all the pledges from Donald Duck and his chums that were promised in a court of law? Fiction it sounds like. Petty has shafted us all as supporters and now he has shafted the players at the same time. How can they be expected to perform at Exeter on Boxing Day in the knowledge that they don’t know how they can support their families? Petty has shat on us from a great height and yet he remains in charge.

There is severe speculation that he will never return to Swansea and he shouldn’t be able to. He has had flak from the supporters and now it will be targetted at him from the staff. Don Goss is left there to face the music, a victim of listening to Petty.

Let’s not forget Mike Lewis who started all this. He is not alone and he should never enter the gates of the Vetch again. But this man is so stupid he will probably be in town tonight celebrating Christmas with some money he’s found from somewhere whilst others face a bleak Christmas. From the highest paid player down to the cleaner, there is no money.

How Petty can sleep is beyond me. As the crook report highlighted previous dealings that went wrong, we see here a man who has lied since the day he arrived at Swansea and now could be in charge of the last christmas ever at Swansea City. All because he was bought in by another leech in Lewis. They are not worthy of name calling, it’s too good for them.

Quite where we stand now remains to be seen but Petty, Lewis, Shuttleworth all deserve to be strung from the lamposts and bombarded with the leftover Christmas pudding.

Scum, the lot of them.
