Roberto Eyes Up League Record

Martinez believes that the Swans have what it takes to finish the season on incredible form although most fans would settle more than comfortably for enough points to win promotion and the title.ย ย  The team is unbeaten for 15 league games – 12 wins and 3 draws and Roberto is keen to more than double that unbeaten sequence as they close in on promotion glory.

Speaking via the club’s official web site the manager said “I want to win all 16 league games we have left between now and the end of the season.

“We are entering the last third of the season and our target is to maintain our current level of performance.

“If we do that then the points will take care of themselves because it’s still too early to look at the table.

“We’ve come a long way as a team since August, but we’ve got to maintain that progress.

“Our fitness levels are good – we wouldn’t be able to play the way we do if they weren’t – and we’ve been working to peak in March.

“With so many games, we need to keep sharing the work load between the squad which is good enough to handle it. The only problem is, nobody wants to have a rest. They all have huge desire to win for SwanseaCity, and that’s been the key ingredient to our success.

“Ferrie Bodde against Walsall in midweek was a typical example. It would have been easy for him to come off injured and have a rest. But no, he was desperate to go back on, and then grabs the winner.”
