The Swansea City midfielder does state though that there are no regrets behind his decision and he is committed to the Swans after he made the decision to stay.
He also believes that Paulo Sousa can consider himself unluckyย to be axed so early into the season and been replaced by Sven Goran Erikkson.
Speaking to the Evening Post ahead of Saturday’s visit of the Foxes, Orlandi said “I think Paulo was unfortunate, he is a good manager and he did a good job with us, but he was not lucky at Leicester.
“It was a surprise to see him lose his job so quickly.
“Last season we didn’t have the best start at Swansea but we got better as the season went on,” said Orlandi.
“But the difference is that our chairman was patient and their chairman was not.
“Let’s wait and see what happens with the new manager at Leicester,” he added.
”Hopefully we can beat them this weekend so he doesn’t have the best start either.
There was a chance that I could have gone there, but it never happened and I don’t think about it
“My first thought was always to stay at Swansea and Brendan wanted me to stay so I’m here.
“I’m really lucky to be here with a team who are pushing on and trying to get promoted. That’s all I think about.
“We didn’t play well on Tuesday, we are better than we showed, but we still got a point against the top team in the league. We could have won even though we didn’t play our best football, so that’s a positive. Hopefully against Leicester we will be a bit fresher and this time we will get the win.”
