The Cardiff City centre back was reflecting back on a game that he believes they should have won based on form going into the game.
But instead it was Marvin Emnes who struck to take the three points back to the Liberty Stadium and close the gap between the two South Wales rivals.
“We made a poor defensive error which led to Swansea’s goal.” Hudson told the Western Mail
“I thought neither team were going to score, but in the second half Swansea stepped it up a bit.
“We didn’t get into the swing of things and create the chances we usually have.
“We have a fair bit of possession on a regular basis, but this time we just didn’t have that. Where we can wear teams down, that wasn’t possible in this game.
“But we are still second and right in the hunt. Jay Bothroyd is back against Reading on Wednesday.
“The form he has been in so far this season has been frightening. He has been brilliant and of course we missed him against Swansea.
“We let Emnes turn and get his shot away,” said Hudson. “We know he is left-footed and he was shown onto that side when we should have been making him go back towards his own goal.
“This is a derby game and with the form we have been in we should be winning. I had confidence we could win. Every team has dips, but unfortunately it was against Swansea.”
