The Swansea City defender was talking after playing his part in a Swans victory over Cardiff on Sunday afternoon.
Rangel in the main kept Bellamy out of the game and believes that the victory was what the Swans deserved after dominating the game.
“He was probably the toughest player I’ve had to play against during my career.” Rangel told Swans Player
“I had to deal with him 100 per cent in every ball and luckily it worked out and we were able to keep him quiet.
“Everybody knows he’s a big threat for them โฆ but in the end we showed big character overall which in these types of games is important.
“I think the spirit of the team, with the fans behind us the whole game, played a big part.
“I think we dominated the game
“It’s a derby, you have to know how to play. We knew what to do – just control the ball and we knew that our chances would come.
“In the second-half the pace was better; we played the ball quicker and got the result.”
