The Swansea City manager sampled his first home defeat as Swans manager as Jon Stead’s 5th minute goal proved decisive ending an impressive run of results for Rodgers’ side.
He told the official site after the game “We are all stunned at the moment.ย We don’t like losing especially at home.ย We don’t like the taste.
“We didn’t start well and it wasn’t our evening.ย We improved a lot in the second half but it certainly wasn’t our night.
“But I can’t criticise my players too much as they’ve been fantastic since I’ve come here.ย Apart from Nottingham Forest away we haven’t had many off days like that.
“It was always going to be difficult after Sunday’s game but full credit to Bristol they scored early and defended well after that.
“I said to the players after the game that they’ve got to learn the lesson because we can’t afford to have other off days.ย I hope they’ve got it our of their system because we’ve always gotย to be 100 per cent.
“But they are an honest bunch.ย They are really hurting in the dressing room because they didn’t produce their normal level of performance.ย We’ve bounced back before though.ย We’ve got to put it to bed and show the right reaction against Middlesbrough on Sunday.
