The Metro newspaper is reporting a potential bidding war between Swansea and Championship leaders QPR for Birmingham striker Phillips
The report reads “Birmingham striker Kevin Phillips, who scored a hat-trick in the reserves this week, could be about to start a bidding war between Championship promotion chasers QPR and Swansea.
“The 37-year-old has played 20 times for Birmingham this season, scoring four times.
“However, the veteran striker could be on his way out of St Andrews in January as both QPR and Swansea attempt to bolster their squad for the second half of the season.
“The Swans are also said to be looking at taking promising young Arsenal striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas on loan in the new year but face competition from Sheffield United and Portsmouth.
“The 19-year-old has made three appearances for the Gunners this campaign and is rumoured to be attracting considerable attention from a number of Championship clubs.
“Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted the 6ft 3in striker needs games under his belt and he could be willing to listen to loan offers in the coming weeks.”
