Brendan Rodgers was not too sure where the dance came from as Danny Graham celebrated the Swans second on Saturday
Graham sprinted up the touchline to celebrate with Leroy Lita the goal that finally secured a deserved three points for the Swans on another nailbiting afternoon at the Liberty Stadium.
And Rodgers saidย “I think it’s an Irish dance which they learned at the Christmas party last weekend”
It was a moment of humour in an interview of praise by Brendan including some for Scott Sinclair who scored the first goal of the afternoon with the help of a huge deflection from Clint Dempsey
“You try to take it off Scott,” Rodgers said through another smile.
“The shot was on target, and I think you saw from Scott’s reaction that he believes he is now off the mark in open play this season.
“I think he will start scoring a few more now โ you will see the change in him.
“I thought his all-round game was excellent again. He puts defenders on the back foot and he is a threat for us, but he will be delighted to get the goal.
“We’d looked at the video analysis of their penalty-takers and Dempsey normally goes right or down the centre,” Rodgers explained.
“You watch Michel’s save again and he actually covers both โ he went to his right and kept his left arm up to cover if the penalty had been more central.
“He showed great speed to get across like he did.
“It was a wonderful save and I felt we deserved that, because it was never a penalty.
“Their lad was clever and the referee bought it.
“A good goalkeeper will get you ten-plus points a season, and Michel is one of the best in the Premier League,” Rodgers said.
“To think that we got him for ยฃ1.5 million โ it’s a steal really.
“He has made big saves at key moments for us, and I think when the lads practise penalties against him in training, they know that’s as tough as it gets.
“If they can score against him, it gives them great confidence.
“It was a great spot by Mark Gower,” Rodgers added.
“I was telling Kemy to get over there so he could play it short, but Mark fed it in there and Danny finished it very well.
“I think the way that he celebrated with Leroy tells you that this is very much a team. We are very much together.”
