Monk worked yesterday with his full squad for the first time since the international break started almost two weeks ago and on Saturday he will test his unbeaten record against Watford who will be in search of their first Premier League win of the season.
Two wins and two draws for Monk last month sees the Swans in fourth place going into the weekend fixtures and a win at Vicarage Road could see us as high as second by the end of this weekend, an incredible achievement by anyone’s standards.
Monk though we know will prepare as thoroughly as he can for every game and he knows that despite there already being five points between the two sides tomorrow will be as tough as anything that we have experienced so far this season.
Speaking to the media at his Thursday press conference, Monk said “They (Watford) won’t fear us but we need to show what we’re about
“We will look to impose ourselves, we can stand up to the physical aspect of the game and we’ve shown we’re a good team.
“But Watford are highly organised and they have a clear way of working. They have brought in a lot of players but they seem to have gelled quickly, which is great credit to the manager.
“They are playing with belief and I’m sure they will identify their home games as ones they can win. It will be a good atmosphere, they will try and make it difficult for us but if we can show the same focus and attitude that we have done so far then hopefully we can come away with the result we want.”
