Winter arrives as Trev’s replacement

The Swans have wasted no time in announcing their appointment for the departed Trevor Birch with the news that Julian Winter has been appointed as the new CEO of the club and will take up his position later on in the month.

After months of large silence, the ownership group spokesman was busy today as he/she made their second statement of the day statingย “We are pleased to welcome Julian as the club’s new chief executive.

โ€œAs part of the appointment process we received significant positive input from many constituencies within the club and those who have worked with him at his prior clubs.

โ€œHis extensive industry experience and collaborative leadership style will be a valued addition as we embark on this next chapter.”

The official site states “Winter built his reputation through a number of key executive roles in recent years and is held in high regard within the footballing industry.”

Winter has been Chief Executive at Huddersfield, Watford, Sheffield United and Notts County.

Iโ€™m obviously delighted to have been selected as the new CEO at Swansea City.ย 

I look forward to getting started at the club on a day-to-day basis, meeting the staff across the club and helping lead Swansea City to a successful future on and off the field. – new Swans CEO Julian Winter

Been watching the Swans since the very late 1970s and running the Planet Swans website (in all its current and previous guises since the summer of 2001 As it stood JackArmy.net was right at the forefront of some of the activity against Tony Petty back in 2001, breaking many of the stories of the day as fans stood against the actions where the local media failed. Was involved with the Swans Supporters Trust from 2005, for the large part as Chairman before standing down in the summer of 2020.
