The Daily Mail have said that Gareth Bale is weighing up the option of joining Swansea this summer along with the many other offers he has received.
Bale could have made the decision to quit the game altogether had Wales failed to qualify for the World Cup last night but he now looks set to continue.
His free kick was headed into his own net by Andriy Yarmolenko to hand Wales a crucial 1-0 win to take them to Qatar this winter for the first time in 64 years.
And with Bale’s next move likely to be used as a means to an end to keep him match fit, he has been mooted with moves to Cardiff, Newcastle Southampton, the MLS and… the Swans.
It would be a sensational move – albeit unlikely – for the club and Russell Martin although the Mail do list the above clubs with a more likely chance of landing the former Real Madrid star.
“SWANSEA
Bale has been weighing up the possibility of joining another Welsh side in Swansea.
This is seemingly another non-starter considering his connections to Cardiff, but again, he has been linked with a shock move into the second tier of English football.
It would be a sensational coup for the Swans if they were able to turn Bale’s head, although it is their Bluebird rivals who hold the advantage in this particular tussle.
Bale is set to ponder carefully over his next destination but, while Swansea cannot be ruled out just yet, their supporters shouldn’t get excited over this blockbuster.”
Cardiff City would undoubtedly make more sense with it being Bale’s hometown club but perhaps Joel Piroe and Michael Obafemi are more attractive options for him to play with than James Collins and Joe Ralls?
I’m sure we will all find out soon enough, although I wouldn’t quite order the Bale 11 shirts quite yet.
That number belongs to Morgan Whittaker!
Hilarious. As if a Cardiff boy that has supported Cardiff all his life, after his uncle had played for Cardiff (pike) would move to Swansea.
Who writes this?! The guy owns businesses and his home in Cardiff that he had just spent a lot of money on for a return home to his home city.
Mental report
I know. Mental idea. I mean itโs like saying a cardiffian like say, John Toshack would leave one of the biggest clubs in the world to come to Swansea. As if something like that would happenโฆ Who writes this?!
John Benjamin Toshack went to The Wretch after he firstly offered himself to your more illustrious neighbours 40 miles east. His offer was rejected and he dropped down 2 divisions as PlayerManager.
The rest is history.
The Cardiff boy did good though, fair play. Will always be a hero of mine
This site used to be really good before, now itโs just full of click bait rumour.
Come to the swans we are the best club in wales
You’ve got a better chance of signing Ronaldo and Messi.
Perhaps a few months in Qatar Star League would be good prep.
