Swans on verge of Man City signing

Manchester City attacker Liam Smith is on the verge of moving to South Wales in a permanent deal from the Premier League champions.

According to reports the Scotland U19 international is undergoing a medical at Swansea to put pen to paper today.

A regular for the U21 team at City, Smith is described as a left winger who can also operate at number 10 behind the front man therefore providing competition for the likes of Ollie Cooper and Olivier Ntcham.

The Manchester club paid over ยฃ200k to secure his services from Kilmarnock in 2020.

This could be the only transfer business for the Swans in January and for a position already well stocked especially with the likelihood of Morgan Whittaker staying.

Underwhelming? Yes.

  1. I’ve got to be honest. 7.15 pm on Transfer deadline day, Swans deals in = 0. Goalkeeper injured. Everyone mentioned as a target – joined someone else. After watching the excitement of Wrexham with an owner with so much passion and enthusiasm, I’m totally sick with the realisation of possibility of league 1.
