Spurs boss: Davies could still go

Ange Postecoglou says that the rejected approach from Swansea City is not the end of the discussions as far as a move for Chris Davies is concerned.

Spurs rejected an initial approach this week but it’s widely anticipated that the club will return with a further approach providing Davies wants to leave North London for South Wales.

And if Tottenham boss Postecoglou is to be believed then it seems that is certainly the case, describing Davies as an outstanding individual who has done “great work for us.”

It has seemed apparent since Michael Duff was sacked on Monday that the WelshmN was the preferred candidate after initial talks took place this summer over the job.

Known for wanting attractive, possession based football, he seems to fit all the criteria which both the club and fans are looking for.

Working with some top coaches like Brendan Rodgers, Roberto Martinez and Postecoglou doesn’t always translate to being a good manager but it’s clear to see that Davies has a great background.

When asked about if the rejection of Swansea’s approach meant Davies would stay, Postecoglou said; “No, I’ve just had a brief discussion with Chris.

“He knows we’ve got a busy week. He’s an outstanding individual and he’s done great work with us.โ€

  1. Usually the second in command stays put .It is a comfortable position of some authority without the ultimate responsibilty .You donโ€™t carry the can. Look st Sheehan with the Swans .
Expect Davies to glory in the accolades and stsy with Spurs
