Swans looking at Danish midfielder – Cardiff City also interested

The name of Tochi Chukwuani may not be the one that is highest on the list of Swans’ fans knowledge but it maybe someone who takes some research for many this afternoon after the Swans were one of a host of clubs interested in the player.

Reports from Denmark suggested that Brøndby, FC Midtjylland and Cardiff were also interested in the 20 year old who has represented Denmark at all levels from Under-16 to Under-21.

Currently at Lyngby Boldklub, the account ‘Danish Scout’  this could be “the most interesting transfer saga on deadline day”

Back in 2022 it was reported that he had signed for Verona but was then claimed that he had failed his medical with the Italian club due to a heart defect that was detected at the medical and due to strict Italian rules the transfer could not be completed.

Wikipedia then says that he signed with Lyngby Boldklub in August of that year, making his debut at home to Rangers in the September.    He scored his first goal in May last year in a 2-1 win over Midtjyllnd.

Worth noting that we're supposedly in a four way battle for him alongside Brondby, Midtjylland and... Cardiff

Seems exactly what we need. Only 20, played 70 senior games, 6ft 2.

Caution - there are apparently fears over a heart problem.

But we've got a Brazilian winger playing for us... that should sway it. ;)

Some athleticism and hunger in midfield is exactly what we (and Grimes) need right now.
Jay has almost felt like he is going through motions rather than fighting for the badge in recent weeks.

Wears number 42.
We all know that is the meaning to life, the universe and everything.
Should suit us too.

Fulton is a passenger and has been for some time. Offers absolutely nothing, defensively, creativity wise or attacking . A complete and utter waste of a starting spot.

Agreed, with arguably a negative impact on our midfield and our ability to transition quickly from defence to attack (a key aspect of how LW wants to play) its hard to see how he justifies keeping Allen, Patino or Cooper out of the side.

Only reason Fulton plays is because the other options (aside from Patino) are shocking.

Allen & Cooper aren’t good enough unfortunately. Neither is Fulton, but he’s marginally better than those two.

Has it become a hot take to like Cooper? Maybe not in a midfield two, but I still rate him quite strongly, and am surprised by how little gametime he receives

Been watching the Swans since the very late 1970s and running the Planet Swans website (in all its current and previous guises since the summer of 2001 As it stood JackArmy.net was right at the forefront of some of the activity against Tony Petty back in 2001, breaking many of the stories of the day as fans stood against the actions where the local media failed. Was involved with the Swans Supporters Trust from 2005, for the large part as Chairman before standing down in the summer of 2020.
