Dobbie Eyes Back To Back Promotions

The Swansea City striker was with Blackpool when they made the ultimate step up last May and he is sensing the chance to have another celebration this time around.

Dobbie scored the only goal as the Swans made it three wins from three with a 1-0 win at Coventry City on Tuesday night and he told BBC Sport “We’re on a great run, the boys have been fantastic,

“If we can keep going it could be another fantastic year but there’s still a long way to go.

“When I went there [to Blackpool] last year, we went on an unbelievable run and I think our game last week against Middlesbrough coming back from 3-1 down with half-an-hour to go to win 4-3 is the kind of thing Blackpool did.

“I think that’s kick-started us and we showed that in the game on Saturday and tonight. We’ve got another big game on Saturday that the team has to pick itself up again and go again.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better run-in,” said five-goal Dobbie. “We’ve played them all away, but we’ve still got to get the job done.

“We’ve slipped up a few times at home but we’ve got to play like we did tonight and grind them out.

“You look at the bench and you’ve got the likes of Joe Allen, a Welsh intenational, and Kemy coming on along with Luke Moore and myself,” he said.

“It shows you the spirit in the team that boys can come off the bench – obviously don’t want to be on the bench – but come on and make a difference and it keeps us up near the top.

“The boys were fantastic all night. I think the whole back four and Dorus de Vries had a busy night.

“Coventry are very physical and pumped balls into the box and we had to be strong, but if you nick a goal and you hang on to it, you come away with the three points

“It was a great lay-off from Nathan and I took my chance and it found its way into the net.”
