Kaine Kesler-Hayden, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Huddersfield Town is a target for the Swans in this window with the club believed to have already been in contact with Aston Villa with a view to bringing him to SA1.

Sources close to bothย Planet Swans andย Swansea Independentย confirmed that Kesler-Hayden is one of the players that the club have identified as a loan target this window which has just a few days now left to run.

It was reported yesterday that the Swans had targeted at least two loan signings between now and the end of the window and yesterday news was given that said the Swans have enquired over his availability.

The defender saw his loan toย  Huddersfield ended earlier in the month with both the Terriers and Villa saying it was in the players best interests but the general belief is that they are prepared to let him go back out on loan which has alerted the Swans to the possibility.

Huddersfield Town’s head of football operations Leigh Bromby explained the ending of the loan at the time by sayingย โ€œWith the arrival ofย Matt Lowtonย andย Ollie Turton nearing a return to full fitness, the right side of defence is an area weโ€™re going to have some real depth in.ย  So this is a decision that has been made with the best intentions for both Kaine and the Club in mind.

“Kaine has shown real promise in his time with us, especially in the past month or so, and we wish him nothing but the best for the future. A pleasure to be around, he has been a credit to himself and his parent club during his time here and Iโ€™d like to thank him for his efforts since joining us. If he continues to apply himself, Iโ€™ve no doubt he can go on to have a brilliant career.โ€

His words were echoed by Huddersfield boss Mark Fotheringham who said โ€œKaine is a fantastic boy and has been great to have around the group.ย  His performances in the past month have shown real progression, and thatโ€™s brilliant to see for a player of his age.

โ€œIโ€™ve really enjoyed working together and seeing a young player push to improve, but at this moment in time letting Kaine go back to Aston Villa and seek more regular minutes is the best thing for all concerned. Iโ€™d like to thank him for all of his effort and look forward to seeing how his career grows going forward.โ€

Kesler-Hayden registered 15 appearances for Huddersfield adding one goal and one assist to the statistic column.ย  His loan spell there followed similar terms at both Huddersfield and MK Dons last season.

It was after that loan spell with Swindon that he was also linked with a potential Swansea City move (see the reports here) but they never materialised into anything.
