• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

When did that happen

Maybe to pay for wage rise

Paying that for a plain old pint of pale ale, pint of Guinness and a alcohol free G&T at that Bistrot Pierre place in the week was £12,87.

Its legalised fuking robbery, at least Dick Turpin wore a mask. :x

I'm assuming we are talking the liberty here? If it is, very easy way to resolve this, nobody, and I mean nobody buy anything there..

It's no biggie I suppose, the prices in the Stadium are always grossly inflated, personally I have never drunk much in the ground, I just arrive last minute hammered, half time buy 2 pints talk rubbish to anyone that listens, and then go back up. :)

Appreciate business have costs and overheads , but this week , meal for 2 diners at a very nice local eaterie , just shy of £ 50 , both customers driving so no alcohol , but a glass of cola came in at a fiver , silly , same as a pint .

The place was very busy , people were prepared to pay them prices without question , so the bill will be accepted and tolerated , no thought of costs from the public , special occasion so money no object .

In fairness , a good evening though .

Apparently you can still find bars in Benidorm which sell lagers like Amstel or Fosters for 1€ a pint, or 500ml to be more accurate.
Around where I live, you're looking at 2€ a pint.

I'd pay them 2 euro not to drink either

It's even £4.20 for a pint of Carlsburgh in the Tavs now ffs

In fairness I only drink Carlsberg/Carling because its weak, I always go into a pub and look for the weakest pint 🤦

I'm a beer drinker, I do enjoy a Madri, San Miguel or a Moretti if there's no decent ale on offer though, Bar 141 [Smiths in Llansamlet] is tidy for a few Madri's and also for decent food in that regard.

Depends where you're drinking. I can still get a decent pint of ale in a Spoons for less than £2.50.
