• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Today's pair of prunes were asked to provide the name of the world's largest 'landlocked' country...

one chose 'China', the other chose 'Russia'....

While I like to think I would have given a better answer than those, this question stumped me. My best guess was an African country, but I was surprised by the answer when I looked it up. Anyone want to have a guess without cheating?

Mongolia or somewhere like that in Asia?

That's a sensible guess and looks bigger than any landlocked African country on the map. You're also pretty close geographically, as the answer is apparently
Kazakhstan

I really dislike Tipping Point, the contestants are usually pretty “limited” - the landlocked question is a toughie though and I’d never have got it.

Today:
Ben Shepherd - Ganymede is a moon of which giant planet in our solar system?

Contestant 1 - er....the Sun.

Ben (to contestant 2) - and what would you have said, Gordon?

Contestant 2 - er....the Moon.

Is it Luxembourg?

I flew over most of the length of it last week when coming back from China. Three hours of mostly blank terrain. It’s a vast, vast nation.

I thought the answer was DR Congo, but you will find a small piece of coastline when you zoom in on the map.

Actually I’ve just looked up what constitutes landlocked so technically it is. What a load of old twaddle.

It has a coastline and a sea yet it is landlocked because the sea is locked. What a ridiculous load of old guff, but them’s the rules. 🤦‍♂️

:ROFLMAO: It caught me out as well, but a few weeks before you. I knew it was 'on the coast', hence I went with DR Congo.

Isn’t that quite a tough Q for tipping point, or is that general knowledge? That why I said Luxembourg as that’s the kind of stupid answer I would expect on there.
