Looks like a competitive field today.

Been going since a kid and had the pleasure of seeing some remarkable winners - Shergar in 81, Nashwan in 89 and Golden Horn in 2015. By far the best winner I ever saw, even surpassing the mighty Shergar, was Slip Anchor in 85 under Steve Cauthen.

Quite a few well bred runners today sired by Sea The Stars, Frankel and Golden Horn.

I'm going with Ambiente Friendly (who has has the distance) plus long shot Voyage by Golden Horn. Now I posted this I know they will bomb....

Agree with your selection, tho the crooked Coolmore operation could bounce back with City of Troy .

Back in the day always did a quid each way on the outsider, 89 the great Nashwan, I did Terimon.
That year we went to the breeders cup as I was in the mob then and in fort lauderdale, got free tickets, went in sailor's tropical uniform, white shorts and white top, didn't pay for a drink! We lumped on Zilzal, lost it, last race Sunday Silence 2/1 v odds on Easy goer we put our last 20 dollars on the 2/1 shot, it was the equivalent of Nashwan v Old Vic which we never saw our horse won, we had taxi money to get back to the ship!!

Good shout Epaul - sounds like a good night.

I saw Old Vic romp home in the French Derby and would love to have seen him.go head to head with Nashwan but that was never going to happen because one of them losing tother other woukd have reduced their stud value.

Talking about Breeder's Cup, I was back and forth to USA in early 1990s with work and remember the Dick Hearn trained and Willie Carson ridden Dayjur in the 1990 when he jumped a shadow in the final furlong, list his stride, and got beaten. Like Devon Loch!
