Southampton played well to be fair and that's a fine point away to the side now 2nd in the table! Just 6 more points and they'll officially not be the worst PL side ever.

Martin continues to get into trouble on the sideline I see, was a regular event while here.

Too be fair, I watched the game, and I think the goalies focus of attention was on the player that was offside, so I can understand why that decision was given?
Same as me.

If that player isn't there, the keeper comes out to stop the cross.

It started earlier than that, emailing Michael Laudrup out during our first foray into Europe.. it all went south after that

Yep. Jenkins had proven his ability to make stupid decisions long before Kaplan and Co turned up. Promoting Monk from Chief Snitch to Manager in place of Laudrup was a massive downgrade.

Your semi-regular reminder that after finishing 10th here with a patchwork quilt squad, Martin took his methods to a club with slightly better players and instantly got promoted.

Just to challenge the groupthink that often passes for insight on these pages 👍🏻
“Slightly better players”? A bit of an understatement that. The three relegated teams last year had the best squads and most resources (£ mostly) we’ve seen for a long time.

I don’t like his constant whinging, the way he hangs players out to dry and his tactical inflexibility. But I would certainly acknowledge he didn’t do a terrible job here (unlike Duff). I just don’t think he’s anywhere near as good as he thinks he is.

Martin's acolytes will defend the man through thick and thin despite the glaring issue of him being a bang average manager who some how has found himself managing at a level above his actual capability.

The cult of Martin believe it's always something or someone else's fault.

I'm not a Martin "acolyte", I just find it absolutely hilarious the vendetta against him by some who cannot accept the reality that he is, like it or not, a capable manager who got a team promoted out of the division the minute he left us.

That's not to say he isn't flawed - he is. It's not to say he's the greatest thing since sliced bread - he isn't. But the vitriol against him by some is just ridiculous, embarrassing even.

He's shit, it doesn't matter how many times you tell yourself he isn't.
