So basically until the owners sell the club we are just going round in circles. Bitch all we want about the players, the football and the manager but it comes down to Coleballs! And I don't see him going soon, maybe we can ask trump to take a hit out on him.

We're ultimately in a catch 22 mate. I can't see a winning situation. We stay up, Coleman thinks Luke is the Messiah (moreso than he already does). We go down, he'll be on about Montague and Luke building a promotion team to be proud of. The only spin I can see is that I think we'll have higher attendances if we go down as it'll be an adventure etc. (I don't want us to go down mind). If we stay up with Twat in charge next year the attendances will keep declining.
The whole scenario is a clusterfuck.

I've resigned myself to being in L1 very soon. We have had 2 spells in the top flight , some excellent european trips, 5 or so finals and some great players.

Could be argued the gen Z generation have been spoilt and not experienced the lower level we are heading.

Football is a cycle and it could be that the last 17years of mainly good times in the top 2 flights is now at an end.
Many fans won't know the 3rd tier and many seem to have lost the fight after such recent glory years.

I did, sometime in the early 2000s. I was working in sales for a chemical company and one of my customers was a big Colchester fan, so we went to a match together. I think we beat them, but can't remember much about it.
EDIT: just researched it, and it was August 2005. We won 2-1 with goals from Forbes and Trunds.

Wigan was the worst for me. Friday night. Springfield Park (I think ?). It was raining, cold and the slippery mud Bank was horrific. Think there were about 20 Jacks. Lost. I think.

Loved a trip to York. Opening game with first use of Orange Gulf top. Winning 4-2 standing next to David D'Auria. Another opening game loss. Used to stay overnight in York. Got kicked out of our hotel at 3 in the morning. Stayed in York overnight before going to Hull. Great away days. Could always get away with a free curry in York
Sorry to bore you but, the way we are, it's lovely to reminisce over the good old days.

Has Bootham Crescent gone too? Eastville was bloody horrible fair play, but they moved to even worse places afterwards. Add Somerton too. Good youthful days, and some great memories.

Off topic but my favourite memories are probably the old big grounds when they were more rough and ready in 81/82 before seated redevelopment, crammed in a Morris Ital, or on the Cornish bus. Highbury, WHL, Maine Road, Villa Park, even OT, the scary Anfield crush and Stanley knives in Stanley Park, and the nastiness of Upton Park and Elland Road. I was wide eyed after the grounds that I’d seen before then. All changed by the time we got to the PL, except Goodison.
