Decided to go down the Full Fibre to the house route as our broadband seemed to be getting slower and slower anyway everything set up for the 19th February..Openreach came out with five vans and about 8 men.

Full of confidence i would be a new man with a fantastic experience, anyway half a job done as culvert blocked and cable couldn’t get through to street box, would be sorted next day. Came home following day no internet rung Plus Net you are all connected now…no i am not.

Still no internet over 2 weeks later a real comedy of errors from Plusnet and Openreach wife trying to work from home on Teams meetings getting her stressed and me grief. Anyway the 3rd engineer is due to arrive today, is this normal or am i just unlucky?

When Open Reach or BT who own Plusnet drop a clanger they really drop a clanger.

If you're not getting anywhere drop marc.allera@ee.co.uk an email.

He's the CEO of EE yet his executive team will point you in the right direction. Failing that escalate the complaint and ask for a deadlock letter to the ombudsman.

Either of these should kick start them in to taking things seriously. If you need any help or advice drop me a PM, it was my bread and butter for 15 years prior to last summer.

3rd Engineer came good as gold, the Fibre ONT box had not been installed correctly then hooray blue light comes on router i thought here we go but no everything looked ok but still no internet!

A new router now needs to be installed 1-3 days….

It sounds like you've had an unusually frustrating experience with your Full Fibre installation. While some delays can happen, a two-week wait with multiple engineer visits is not typical. Miscommunication between providers like Plusnet and Openreach can cause these issues. Hopefully, the third engineer resolves it and brings you the faster speeds you were promised.

We were with Plusnet until last year but we moved to EE because Plusnet didn’t offer a Full Fibre and a landline option. I have to say their customer service was first class, you’d get an answer quickly and be able to speak to someone in the UK - something of a rare it’s these days!!

It has now been resolved the Plusnet customer services were pretty good at answering the phone and listening, however nobody seemed to take ownership of the issue. It wasn’t helped by Openreach not setting up the connection correctly in the first place and my profile being incorrect. I had a rant and a young sounding guy did take ownership and in about 3hours it was all sorted and i was back online.

Very frustrating experience and really highlights how much you rely on the internet to run stuff around the house.
