• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

5 billion in benefit cuts to the welfare bill for disabled people.. so they can shove them on minimum wage jobs and cut funding for their living arrangements.. fair play ECB, your boys are doing the business, and I'm the idiot

They've basically said, all of the lazy plebs we'll shove on minimum wage, excellent idea
.. except there's no affordable housing and food banks are still a thing like.. can we all go down a legal route? For modern slavery and exploitation?

"The majority of those people should be working".

"Under the plans that we're going to bring in, they will be working and crucially, they will be given support to get back to work,"

Hmm.. I can see a libel action, where the government are actively forcing vulnerable people into destitution, hopefully Reeves will drop a few more clangers in the media when she announces more on their plan

Trump will pull people out of destitution by winning a libel action with a delegation.

Over 150k immigrants by boat crossing last 6 years. How many of those are actually working/contributing? Answer will be very low.
Nearly all the rest will be claiming and working the system.
I'm no Carol Vorderman, but that won't be far off the 5 billion they looking for.

No 1: they are not allowed to work when they arrived until they’re processed and allowed to stay.

No 2: you have no idea on what happens when they become a citizen. No idea.

No 3: no you are not a Carol Vorderman. More like Tommy ten names

There are thousands since the pandemic swinging the lead. “Anxiety” etc the new back ache.

It’s not good for the vast majority of those young people who could work not to be working they are dooming themselves to misery.

Anyone who is actually disabled deserves all the help they can. Honestly look at the figures since Covid it’s wild and that is one of the reasons we’re in doldrums.

It’s evil to throw people on scrap heap not nice.

And this ladies and gentlemen, is a massive reason why so many men are taking their own lives. Because of ignorant comments from clowns like this.

Please, if anyone is struggling out there, ignore comments such as those, things will get better for you.

It’s always darkest just before dawn breaks.

I’ve only just noticed the original post on this thread. I’ve been blamed and lied about a lot this week but I didn’t realise benefit cuts are my fault as well. What a week. :ROFLMAO:

I’m only sad I wasn’t here to invent something else to chuck at you.

I said right at the beginning when they locked us down that mental health would be affected, and that governments would need to throw a lot of money at the problem, folk are still suffering, it's a problem that's not going to go away.

Mental health is a massive issue, particularly in men and suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50. There are lots of people who are genuinely unwell but there are also people who are abusing the system. Because of the numbers, lots of people either don’t get the help they need or it comes so late their condition has deteriorated and they’ve become acutely unwell.
Mental health and care in the community is very under resourced and stretched.

Sadly, I can say this from experience.

Aye I know all about the numbers my friend, I write and deliver presentations on the subject as part of my job, without dealing with the subject away from work as well.

In the construction industry alone, two men succeed in taking their own lives every single working day. Read that back again.

The mental health care in this country is abysmal, and that is from children to senior citizens. And what doesn’t help the situation at all is throw away comments by people such as:

There’s nothing wrong with you.
Pull yourself together.
Nobody said life was easy.
You haven’t got issues, I seen you laughing and joking earlier.
You’ll say anything for a bit of attention.

I could go on and on.
