Josh Tymon on Oxford United | Reaction

He played every minute of every game since Sheehan came in getting 4 assists and 7 clean sheets in 13 games

Outside of a superficial layer of stats though what has really shone for me was his growing understanding and partnership with Eom which is starting to approach the levels of the Rangel/Dyer partnership back in the glory days

There's no doubt that the combo of Tymon, Eom and O'Brien down the left was having more success yesterday than the combo of Key, Ronald and Franco down the right.

If I was picky, his defensive work is not great and alot of teams target him for leaving gaps. I cannot argue the rest, very creative and drives forward. Again, it's nothing he hasn't said himself and is aware he needs to improve his defensive side.

Very much so. That defensive left side was exposed continually by Oxford, probably highlighting the work Darling would usually do in covering. The crossing of Tymon though and the chances created cannot be underestimated.

Both Ronald and Eom have been good in covering Tymon and Key in recent weeks and no doubt Placheta couldn't wait to get on the field and use his electric pace to attack the lack of cover.
