Why are people talking about moving Eom inside? Under Sheezy, he has been beating people for fun on the left wing, as well as cutting inside and scoring, like Saturday. He's a natural left winger for me.

Basically he did do the same at his last club, cutting in but Williams stated he was brought in as a number 10 and Eom has been discussed when he was signed as a number 10 with journalists and I beleive he mentioned it in some transcription - who knows? . I beleive from his last club he was cutting in and doing the same thing. It's interesting now if he is competing on that side with our new signing. Either way, if its Eom or not we need a number 10. I don't have much knowledge on Widdell so not sure if he comes in for Allen role?

The reasons for Eom coming inside as a 10 are as stated above, because that's the role he was recruited for (odd that he hasn't played there at all really, I guess because of the lack of alternatives for the left wing), and because he's too good to leave on the bench. Inoussa is clearly going to start on the left, given his high profile.

Not sure about Widell being a dm general like Allen or Grimes but if you watch his highlights reel, mostly center or attacking midfield, there are also plenty of clips in there where he is the holding mf player. PS hope on over the Widell thread and watch his brother Caspers highlights reel too.

Hopefully Widell is the box to box driving midfielder with 5-10 goals in him that we had in Ntcham if only Russy hadn't mostly stuck him out wide.

I still think they will be looking for a holding midfielder, Ferries Bodde type of player.
I think the push for Jacob Wright would indicate that they want this type of player.

You're probably right, but it would be so frustrating to have all this talent in midfield but not enough space to play them, especially while there are gaps elsewhere in the squad.

Zeidane now on the left which pushes Eom to the centre role, Ronald on the right (and backup needed), then 2 of Franco, Widell or another. If Widell is a more forward player, then Eom is too good to be on the bench. The bloke has come on leaps since the shackles have come off and he has put a few pounds of muscle on, real player there.

Nice issues to have, but maybe not the smartest issue given weaknesses elsewhere

There are echoes of Ferrie Bodde in him which is absolutely no insult to Widell.
The range of his passing and his long shooting ability are phenomenal

One can't help but ask though, how the hell did a team with a midfielder like that manage to end up in the relegation playoffs?

Current Best defender in the world - William Saliba
Best defender ever - Ramos

Current best midfielder in the world - Pedri
Best midfielder ever - Luka Modrić

Current Best forward just now - Mbappe or Dembélé
Best forward ever - Ronaldo

Note this interview was before Modrić came onboard. So bet Zeidane was well chuffed when his favourite midfielder Luka Modrić called him to join the swans ️
