• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I've noticed a bit of a pattern emerging recently. So previously our most prominent youngsters coming through were:
Allen - Narberth
Davies - Ystradgynlais
Roberts - Crynant
Rodon - Llangyfelach
G Edwards - Lampeter
R N Davies - Talybont

More recently:
Cabango - Cardiff
Congreve - Gwent
Morgan - Cardiff I think?
Cullen - Kilgetty
Cooper - East Walian I think?
Cotterill - East Walian I think?
B Cooper - unsure?
Josh Thomas - Bridgend area?
Ben Lloyd - unsure?

Not sure if I've missed any prominent ones but where are all the talented Swansea catchment/ West Walian youngsters these days? Is it just a population thing where less kids are playing overall but in Wales, most of the population is in the South East?

Ben Davies isn’t from Ystragynlais, he’s from Tonna in Neath. Not that makes a difference to your point.

Ben Lloyd is a Swansea boy

That talented midfielder from the U17’s that I watched the other day is from Talgarth.
Brogan Popham’s a Swansea boy.
Sure from the list above Brandon Cooper is too.
Also, Llangyfelach is local 😂

Yeah Brandon Cooper and Ben Lloyd both Swansea.

As was Aaron Lewis who's now at Mansfield, and obviously Mark Harris at Oxford.

Colwill brothers from Neath. The concern is that in the past we've taken plenty from Cardiff's patch, in future they will be taking more from ours.

They’ve been there since they were around 7, so that quite a while ago now. Don’t know of any others that have made it to around their first team who are from around Neath.

Strange that they didn't join our academy given that it was on their doorstep.

It’s whatever scout sees and recommends you I suppose mate. Fella in my office from Sketty, both his boys are with Cardiff kids set up.

Hasn't somebody with good knowledge of the situation said before that Cardiff take loads of young players on, most of whom they know won't make it? Can't remember who said it or what their reasoning for Cardiff doing this was.

They charge, so the reason is money

Brandon Cooper is a Bridgend boy.

As for Cardiff signing Swansea boys and vice versa its all about opinion when the kid is 8, 9 or 10, and also, only so many can be signed every season.
